Basement

The basement is an added bonus to this home!  Immediately as you walk down the stairs, you are greeted with a wide-open room the full length of the house.  New carpet was installed in 2013, and this is a perfect playroom, additional living room, storage room, craft room, hobby room, you name it!  It really is a great feature!

It boasts a lovely original gas fireplace, but I have not used it in my 2 1/2 years of living in the home. A previous home inspection mentioned that the flue was rather small and would discourage its use, but it sure looks gorgeous! A possibility is to add an electric fireplace here in the existing area for added coziness!

The other half of the basement is unfinished but retains its usefulness. Here you will find the furnace, hot water heater, tool storage, sump pump, laundry chute (so handy to drop your clothes from the top floor to the basement!), and laundry room. You can keep the rest of the house clean and tidy and keep your dirty clothes down here! A set of cabinets and "clothes folding room" is included if wanted.

The other half of the unfinished basement is currently set up as a workshop.

With the total functionality of the basement, the home actually could boast nearly 1900-square-feet of actual usefulness!  The basement is a wonderful little gem.
